Wizz Air has hosted a decision made by Serbian authorities to postpone the implementation of revised rules authorising foreign airlines in the country, with the low-cost carrier confirming that it will maintain its Belgrade Nikola Tesla base for the upcoming 2026/2027 winter season. The Serbian government gazette 93/2026, published on 28 September, includes a provision delaying the implementation of the controversial amendments until 28 March 2027. In June 2026, Wizz Air warned that the new regulations were discriminatory and could force the closure of its Belgrade base, setting a late-September deadline for its final decision.
