Santry-based Stobart Air is to launch 12 new routes from its London Southend airport base next year.
The flights will operate through its existing franchise agreement with Flybe, and will base two 118-seat Embraer E195 aircraft at Southend.
Stobart are adding 12 new European routes ex Southend, operating through its franchise arrangement with Flybe, from May 2017, Budapest 3w,. Milan Malpensa 5w, Venice 2w. Further routes to Cologne 6w, Dubrovnik 2w, Figari Corsica 2w, Lyon 4w, Perpignan 2w, Prague 5w, Reus 3w, Vienna 3w and Zadar 2w will be added at a later date.
Southend airport has been owned by the Stobart Group, parent company of Stobart Air, since December 2008.
Flybe Embraer 195Irish carrier Cityjet recently been ended discussions with Stobart Group regarding the potential acquisition of Stobart Air, which operates the Aer Lingus Regional service.
The company behind Dublin-based Stobart Air made a €483,000 profit last year – the first since 2010. Turnover at the company, Everdeal Holdings, rose to €122.5m.
