Seven cruise ships anchored off Copacabana to watch the Rio de Janeiro new year fireworks, MSC Seaview, MSC Sinfonia, MSC Fantasia, MSC Armonia, MSC Preziosa, Costa Favolosa, Hamburg, bringing over 18,000 passengers and nearly 7,500 crew for New Year’s Eve.
MSC Seaview was the largest with 4,140 guests from Santos cruise. MSC Sinfonia, MSC Fantasia, MSC Armonia, and MSC Preziosa join. Costa Favolosa arrives from Buenos Aires. Hamburg from Plantours completes lineup on Canary Islands voyage.
MSC Preziosa operated themed cruise with concerts. Other vessels arrived from MSC, Costa, and Plantours. MSC Fantasia sailed from Argentina. The MS Hamburg plans two days in Rio post-event before embarking on an itinerary that includes Maceió, Ilhéus, and Salvador.
