Castlelake acquistion drives up Avolon performance in 2025

Dublin-based Avolon has confirmed strong performance across the fourth quarter and full year 2025.

The company acquired 168 aircraft during 2025, including 106 as part of the Castlelake Aviation Limited transaction, and added 21 more in the final quarter. It sold a record 95 aircraft with an average age of 10 years, including 26 in the fourth quarter, while a further 72 aircraft have been agreed for sale.

Avolon placed 59 new technology aircraft throughout the year, with 10 in the fourth quarter, and ordered 90 new aircraft from Airbus, comprising 75 A321neo and 15 A330neo models scheduled for delivery up to 2033. The firm ended 2025 with an owned, managed and committed fleet of 1,132 aircraft, including orders and commitments for 500 more.

Credit ratings received upgrades from Moody’s and Fitch, with S&P shifting its outlook to positive. Avolon extended its unsecured revolving credit facility to October 2029 and increased it to 5.41 billion euro. The company contracted €5.68bn of new unsecured debt financing in 2025, including 3.1 billion euro of senior unsecured notes and €2.58bn euro in new unsecured bank facilities from its global lending group.
