Kildare’s Barberstown Castle in Straffan is inviting couples to linger with a Romantic Escape, available for one or two nights from €415 per couple.
The experience began with a chocolate treat waiting in the room on arrival. Guests will sample dinner in the Castle’s Barton Rooms, where a welcoming glass of champagne set the tone for an evening of fine food and quiet celebration.
The Barton Rooms recent winers at the Good Food Ireland awards is showcasing exceptional Irish produce in a setting that felt both elegant and warmly intimate.
Many of the bedrooms had four-poster beds and the sort of enveloping quiet that encouraged long lie-ins and slow mornings.
