MSC Cruises confirms major upgrade for Ocean Cay Private Island

MSC Cruises revealed plans to enhance Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas with new facilities and an extended pier set for completion in late 2027.

The pier extension will allow two ships to dock simultaneously, increasing capacity beyond the current single-ship limit. New additions include four dining experiences bringing the total to seven venues, featuring a signature specialty restaurant, buffets, and food market options. Upgrades cover Seakers Cove Family Beach with a kids’ playground, splashpad, ropes course, ping-pong, and foosball, plus Paradise Sands as an adults-only beach that transforms for evening cocktails. Construction has started on the pier, and work continues on a second adjacent private island known as Little Cay.
