Revenue commissioners seek to wind up Russian-owned Irish aircraft firm

The Revenue Commissioners has lodged a petition to wind up Dublin-based Holy Sky Ltd owned by sanctioned Russian national Sergey Shilov. 

The case is scheduled for High Court hearing next month. Company records show net assets of €15.8m at end 2024 with three Cessna aircraft acquired since 2012 registered in Russia.

Holy Sky recorded a €1m loss in 2024 with aircraft net book value under €4m and financial assets of €7.3m including loans to related Italian companies. Sergey Shilov served as director from 2016 to 2018 and remains sole owner. He faces Ukrainian sanctions since 2008 with involvement in Russian and Indian aviation firms also sanctioned.

The company had net assets of €15.8m at the end of 2024.
