Titanic Belfast has been named the ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ at the World Travel Awards in the Maldives.
Having already won Europe’s official Leading Tourist Attraction, Titanic Belfast finished ahead of eight attractions on the shortlist, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, the Las Vegas Strip, Machu Picchu in Peru, Intramuros in the Philippines, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Sugarloaf Mountain in Brazil and Guinness Storehouse. Ireland was the only country to have two attractions shortlisted.
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers was named the world’s leading hotel, Etihad the world’s leading airlinel and Changi Airport, Singapore the world’s leading airport. Norwegian Cruise Line won the large cruise ship award. The United Arab Emirates won 19 awards, three more were won Emriates ariline. The World Travel Awards, founded in 1993 and headquartered in London, are selected by, an international jury of hospitality peers.

Through this award, we hope to drive more footfall to the island.
