DiscoverNI has launched a Postcards from NI podcast series hosted by Ralph McLean.

The six-part series released weekly from February featured guests sharing travel memories and stories from the six counties. Episode one included artist Colin Davidson discussing his Belfast upbringing, inspiration from Cave Hill, and family trips along the Causeway Coast.

Colin Davidson described midnight kayaking on Strangford Lough and recommended boating on Lough Erne. The podcast aimed to celebrate local places, culture, and experiences through nostalgic and personal accounts.

Future episodes planned to continue with well-known guests exploring favourite and lesser-known locations.

Colin Davidson shared “I’m never tired of visiting Black Mountain, Cave Hill and the Castlereagh Hills. Belfast is quite unique in the sense of where it’s placed. To be standing on those viewpoints, enjoying those wonderful walks, and suddenly seeing the city in its entirety – there are not many places you can do that.”

Colin Davidson shared “In this part of the world, there is a warmth, humour and welcome that really isn’t to be found in the same way anywhere else.” Carmel Scott shared “As our first podcast, we want to bring to life the giant spirit of Northern Ireland through the lens of our most cherished local travel memories.”
