EasyJet has announced the addition of new routes from regional airports to popular Mediterranean destinations for the summer 2026 season.

The moves will boost capacity from bases including Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. The airline expects the changes to support increased passenger numbers and benefit local tourism economies.

EasyJet has announced a significant expansion of its UK regional network, adding 16 new routes across eight airports for the Summer 2026 season. This growth is part of a broader strategy to leverage the “far better value” of regional hubs compared to the high costs of London airports.

The expansion includes a mix of new domestic connections and international leisure destinations:

  • Bristol: Adding routes to Bari (Italy), Seville (Spain), and a milestone service to Sal, Cape Verde.
  • Glasgow: Four new routes to Malta, Pisa, Lisbon, and Sharm El Sheikh.
  • Birmingham: New services to Inverness and Nice, alongside previously announced flights to Rome Fiumicino.
  • Manchester: New links to Montpellier (France) and Preveza (Greece).
  • Liverpool: Routes to Paphos (Cyprus) and Lisbon (Portugal).
  • London Southend: New connections to Jersey and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
  • Newcastle: A new route to Tenerife as the airline prepares to open a new three-aircraft base at the airport in Spring 2026.
  • Edinburgh: A unique direct flight to Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The airline’s CEO, Kenton Jarvis, highlighted that regional airports currently offer better growth opportunities than London. Key developments include:

A new base in Newcastle will open in 2026, creating approximately 130 direct jobs. Additional aircraft are being stationed at regional hubs, including two more Airbus A320s at Birmingham and a 19th aircraft at Bristol.

EasyJet holidays is launching package deals for all new international routes, targeting the growing demand for leisure travel.
