The Inn at Dromoland has rebranded as The Rine, embracing a name that pays homage to the winding river, referred to as the Rine or Abhainn na Rinne in Irish, that flows through the estate and shapes the spirit of the surrounding landscape.
The transformation introduces a refreshed visual identity inspired by the earthy beauty of County Clare’s ancient woodlands and the welcoming, playful energy of the hotel’s team. The new branding emphasises a stronger sense of place while preserving the warm, friendly hospitality that guests have enjoyed for years.
Lovated within 500 acres of picturesque parkland and woodland on the Dromoland estate, The Rine, formerly a popular three-star retreat and sister property to the luxurious Dromoland Castle, offers 152 spacious bedrooms, family-friendly facilities including an indoor swimming pool (currently undergoing minor works until mid-March), a health and fitness club, Shannigans Gastro Pub, and Deerfields Restaurant.
Management described the rebrand as “turning the page” on a new era, with the name The Rine drawing directly from local geography to create a deeper connection to Clare’s natural surroundings. A new dedicated website, therine.ie, has launched to coincide with the change, inviting visitors to explore the updated look and book stays.
The hotel remains committed to serving as a calm gateway for exploring the region’s attractions, from the Cliffs of Moher to the Burren, while continuing to welcome families, leisure travellers, and those seeking a peaceful base near the iconic Dromoland Castle.
The name of the river is believed to be derived from the Irish word Rinn, meaning “point,” “promontory,” or “headland”.
