Ryder cup venues bookings extend to venues an hour and a half away from event

Hoteliers are reporting robust demand for accommodations in anticipation of the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, with bookings extending to venues an hour and a half away from the event site.

Michael Magner, outgoing president of the Irish Hotels Federation, highlighted that international visitors are undeterred by distances, utilising various transport options including private aircraft and helicopters to attend the prestigious golf tournament expected to draw 280,000 spectators.

This surge is seen as a boon for the regional hospitality sector, which employs 69,000 people nationwide, though concerns linger over planning delays and supply constraints that could hamper growth.

The recent reduction in VAT on food and catering to 9pc is anticipated to further support the industry’s recovery and 2026 forecasts.
