Stena Line achieved record freight volumes on its three Belfast services throughout two thousand twenty five with growth of 1pc bringing total units shipped close to six hundred thousand. The figures cover routes to Cairnryan Liverpool Birkenhead and Heysham. The record year coincided with Stena Line marking thirty years of operations from Belfast Harbour after moving from Larne in nineteen ninety five. Demand has increased steadily in recent years especially on the Belfast to Liverpool Birkenhead route.
The strong performance underscores the importance of reliable freight connections for businesses in Ireland and Britain. Volumes on the Belfast Liverpool route in particular reached new highs. The growth builds on consistent year on year rises across the network. Stena Line continues to invest in vessels and services to meet this rising demand.
The results come as the company prepares to introduce additional capacity with the arrival of Stena Connecta. Freight operations remain a core part of Stena Line activities on the Irish Sea. The carrier maintains a long term commitment to the Belfast market.
Stena Line shared in a written statement: 2025 was another record year for Stena Line freight volumes on its three Belfast services with growth of 1pc increasing volumes to almost six hundred thousand freight units shipped from Belfast to Cairnryan Liverpool Birkenhead and Heysham.
