Dublin City Council has granted planning permission for a 43-bedroom hotel in Dublin city centre.

Chambers Properties Ltd received the approval for the hotel on the corner of Dame Street and Eustace Street. The scheme involves the change of use of the Shamrock Chambers building which currently comprises a vacant restaurant, shop and vacant office. It becomes a six-storey hotel.

The ground floor of the new scheme provides a retail and cafe floor space. The decision reverses a refusal issued in October 2024. The council received one third-party submission that objected to the scheme.

Daniel Moody shared “the design of the additional storey has been reconsidered by the design team and is a softer intervention that respects the scale and character of the existing development”.
