Uber has agreed to acquire private chauffeur company Blacklane. The ride-hailing company confirmed the deal on 30 March 2026. The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval and it is expected to close by the end of 2026.

Blacklane operates as a German-based global booking platform that connects users to private chauffeurs in over 500 cities across more than 60 countries. Uber launched Uber Elite last month in Los Angeles and San Francisco with plans to add New York City and the service connects users with fully licensed professional chauffeurs. The move forms part of Uber’s expansion into premium travel that includes tiers such as Uber Lux and Uber Exec along with scheduled pickups and airport services.

Blacklane focuses on pre-booked luxury chauffeur services and it brings expertise in consistent high-end experiences. The integration will combine Blacklane’s network of professional chauffeur partners with Uber’s global scale and technology. Users may see more seamless options within the Uber app once the deal completes.
