HBX Group has been hosting MarketHub Europe 2026 in Malta this week under the theme “Unlocked”.  Subjects under discussion include a 25pc fall off in bookings due to the Us-Israel war on Iran.

Around 500 senior travel industry leaders gathered at the InterContinental Malta between 21 and 24 April 2026. The event focused on how to unlock growth amid shifting consumer expectations, technological acceleration and global uncertainty.

Sessions examined demand trends, distribution strategies, data-driven decision making and the future of hotel partnerships. External speakers including Dave Goodger from Oxford Economics addressed travel demand in a complex environment while futurist John Sanei explored organisational adaptation in a period of rapid change. HBX Group executives including CEO Nicolas Huss, Chief Distribution Officer David Amsellem and Chief Sourcing and Commercial Services Officer Xabier Zabala shared perspectives on market dynamics and emerging opportunities.

Participants discussed the role of artificial intelligence, evolving traveller behaviour and the importance of partnerships in navigating current challenges.
