Cunard has published deck plans that show the addition of 30 new staterooms to Queen Mary 2. The 2004-built ship undergoes a major refurbishment programme in 2027. The changes increase passenger capacity by around 2.5pc from the current 2,620 in double occupancy.
Most new staterooms come on Deck 13 where a sun deck converts into accommodation that includes 18 Princess Grill Suites and five inside cabins. Deck 9 sees the Concierge Lounge turn into four inside cabins while Deck 8 gains a new Penthouse Suite. Four additional inside cabins replace part of the Teens and Kids Zone on Deck 6.
The ship enters dry dock in late March 2027 and returns to service on 9 May 2027. Other modifications include a new sun deck on Deck 14 and the removal of the Boardwalk Café from Deck 12.
