The Lux Collective has opened LUX* Lake Kivu and SALT of Akagera, marking its debut in Rwanda. LUX* Lake Kivu offers a 14-key lakeside retreat on one of Africa’s few crocodile and hippo-free lakes, while SALT of Akagera provides a 60-key eco-luxury safari lodge in Akagera National Park, the country’s only Big Five reserve. These properties form the first phase of a five-property circuit and join existing high-end options such as One&Only Gorilla’s Nest and Singita Kwitonda Lodge.

The openings support Rwanda’s growing appeal for combined gorilla trekking, Big Five safaris, lakeside wellness and conservation experiences. UK travellers can access twin-centre itineraries that highlight mountain gorilla encounters, game drives, kayaking and community initiatives.

These properties form the first phase of a five-property circuit that covers key landscapes. The additions expand options for safari, wildlife and wellness travel.

The openings create twin-centre itineraries that combine gorilla trekking, Big Five safaris and lakeside experiences. Rwanda strengthens its position with these sustainable properties.
