SuperEscapes has reported a 61pc increase in microcation bookings.

Searches and bookings for three to five night holidays rose 61pc compared with the same period last year. Demand for seven to 10 night stays softened as travellers opt for multiple shorter breaks. Popular destinations include the Balearics, mainland Spain and Croatia.

The trend shifts from traditional city breaks to short haul beach escapes. Flights of two to three hours support long weekend travel. Jason Waldron noted increased spontaneous booking patterns.

Example packages feature four nights in Croatia from £659 per person and Ibiza from £599 per person. The data reflects flexibility and cost management in summer 2026 travel habits. Microcations allow spreading budgets across several trips.

Jason Waldron shared “The idea of taking shorter, more intentional breaks is not new, but we are seeing it play out differently this summer. For many travellers, it is about flexibility and making holidays fit around modern life.”
