Seafront Whistledown Hotel in County Down listed for sale

The Whistledown Hotel in Warrenpoint, Co Down, has been officially placed on the market by its long-term owners with a guide price of offers over £2.5 million. 

The prominent, three-star seafront hospitality property is being marketed by commercial real estate agency CBRE. 

Sarah and Colum McAvoy, who have owned and operated the hotel for 32 years since opening it in 1994. Are selling a boutique 21-bedroom hotel originally developed from a Victorian-era house on Seaview overlooking Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains, and the Cooley Peninsula.

Amenities included two award-winning restaurants (Finn’s Restaurant and The Whistledown Bistro), Meabh’s Lounge, a seafront beer garden, and the 200-seater Oisin Function Suite used for weddings and conferences.

The McAvoy family, who also own the Bridge Bar in Newry, noted that they are choosing to sell at a time when Warrenpoint is experiencing significant growth as a rising tourism and lifestyle destination.
