Cassidy Travel has revealed emerging city break trends for 2026 with the launch of its latest brochure. Irish holidaymakers book more short breaks in addition to annual holidays and look to destinations beyond traditional favourites. Spain, France, Portugal and Italy lead bookings with more than half of customers planning city breaks in 2026 and 2027.

Interest grows in locations such as Bergen, Porto, Estonia, Oslo and Vienna due to new and expanded air routes. The collection includes European cities together with Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Singapore, Hong Kong, North America and Canada. Twin Treats itineraries and river cruises feature for travellers who seek multiple destinations or a leisurely pace.

With so many direct services available from Ireland, exploring the world’s most fascinating cities has never been as easy. Spain, France, Portugal and Italy continue to lead Irish city break bookings with more than half of customers planning a city break in 2026 and 2027. We are also seeing strong growth in interest for destinations such as Bergen, Porto, Estonia, Oslo and Vienna.”
