CLIA has recognised over 60 agents as river or expedition Cruise Champions after completion of a seven-month training programme. The agents received certification at a graduation ceremony that took place in Birmingham. The programmes entered their second year and target agents new to or with limited experience in these sectors.

The training combined classroom learning, monthly webinars, assessments and digital catch-ups with content from CLIA member operators on destinations, product awareness and sales techniques. The next round of programmes launches in November with applications opening in August.

Andy Harmer shared “Many congratulations to all our Cruise Champions. These programmes have helped them build specialist expertise in two of the fastest-growing cruise sectors and the graduates should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Many thanks to our cruise line members for their continued support in helping deliver training and expertise.”
