AirAsia X has changed its name to AirAsia Group following shareholder approval at the annual general meeting.
The Companies Commission of Malaysia registered the new name on 2 July 2026. Capital A completed the transfer of its aviation subsidiaries including AirAsia and AirAsia Aviation Group to the company earlier in 2026.
AirAsia Group now owns AirAsia and holds shares in AirAsia-branded joint ventures outside Malaysia. The rebranding consolidates the aviation businesses under one entity. Non-aviation activities remain under Capital A. The change took effect on 2 July 2026.
