Ireland inbound visitor numbers from Australia and New Zealand were 33,700 in July, down 34.9pc on July 2025 and down 63.9pc on pre-pandemic. Rolling annual was 119,300 down 9.3pc on the twelve months to July 2025.

The total for the first six months of 2026 was 50,400, up 2.4pc on the first six months of 2025 and 44.7pc behind pre-pandemic.

This follows a decrease of 6pc in June, an increase of 3pc in May, decrease of 7.4pc in April, and increases of 7.1pc in March 2025, 7.1pc in February and 3.9pc on January. The decrease in April is partly attributable to the earlier Easter and partly to the loss of the loss of the three hubs of preference in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi (Etihad), Doha (Qatar Airways) and Dubai (Emirates).
