Leonardo Hotels has released results from a national survey on Irish city breaks. The survey identifies preferences for spontaneous getaways and hotel features. Cork and Galway lead in several categories.
Cork received 38pc of votes as the top choice for spontaneous weekend escapes while Galway received 37pc. Galway ranked first for romance with 48pc and for solo travellers with 41pc. Dublin led for best food scene with 42pc.
Food and culture tied as top priorities at 39pc each when choosing a city break. Central location ranked highest for hotel selection at 29pc followed by comfortable bed at 25pc. Leonardo Hotels operates properties in Cork, Galway, Belfast and Dublin.
