Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has entered into an agreement to sell the Oceania Sirena, an R-class ship expected to leave the fleet after its spring 2028 deployment. A buyer has not yet been named. The 684-guest ship originally launched as the R Four in 1999 for Renaissance Cruises, later sailing for Princess Cruises from 2002 through 2016 before becoming the Sirena for Oceania.
The sale marks another vessel move for Oceania, which is moving on from its older R-class fleet as the brand has been repositioned into the luxury market. The 1998-built Regatta has been chartered to myCruises for the next two years, while the 2000-built Nautica will be reimagined with less capacity as the Oceania Aurelia and sail on longer itineraries. The Insignia remains the sole R-class ship in Oceania’s fleet after a previous sale to Crescent Seas fell through.
Oceania Cruises expects to continue operating Oceania Sirena through spring 2028 pursuant to a charter agreement. The transactions are expected to close during the third quarter of 2026.
