LEGEND Lore: Bubbles at Altitude: The Hideaway Bar on Legend of the Seas, aboard the world’s largest cruise ship

0

Guests reach The Hideaway Bar on Deck 15 in the aft section of the adults-only Hideaway neighbourhood on Legend of the Seas. The bar sits directly beside the suspended infinity pool, 135 feet above the ocean, with counters and seating arranged across multilevel sun terraces. In-water and dry seating options surround the pool, while the bar provides immediate service to guests in the water and on the surrounding decks. The open aft design delivers uninterrupted sea views from nearly every position.

The menu concentrates on low-ABV, bubbly cocktails suited to extended daytime lounging. Champagne and prosecco form the base for most creations, paired with fresh juices, tropical elements and lighter spirits to maintain drinkability in the sun. No full food service operates at the bar itself, though light snacks may be available from nearby stations within the neighbourhood.

Signature cocktails include Oh Mai Gawd, prepared with Bacardi Reserva Ocho rum, Angostura 5 Yr rum, Bitter Bianco liqueur, passion fruit and guava syrups, pineapple, lime and orange juices. Other selections feature Castaway Spritz with Aperol, coconut milk, pineapple juice, mango, vanilla syrup and prosecco, and Sunset Spritz made with Patrón Silver tequila, Cointreau, desert pear and watermelon syrups, lime juice and prosecco. Zero-proof options such as Citrus Tonic with lemon juice, elderflower tonic and sparkling grapefruit appear alongside the list.

A sample visit might begin with a Castaway Spritz ordered from the bar while seated at an in-pool table, followed by a Sunset Spritz on a shaded terrace lounger as the afternoon progresses, and conclude with an Oh Mai Gawd during golden hour overlooking the wake. Service reaches both dry and submerged seating areas, with drinks calibrated for the pool environment.

The Hideaway Bar forms part of the standard Icon-class neighbourhood design. It operates on Legend of the Seas, Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas in the equivalent aft position on Deck 15 of each ship’s Hideaway area, with matching suspended pool adjacency, multilevel terraces and bubbly-focused menu structure. The concept remains exclusive to these Icon-class vessels.

On Legend of the Seas, the bar opens on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. Its integration with the suspended infinity pool allows guests to order and return to their spot in the water or on the terraces without leaving the immediate area.
