Italian national coach Conor O’Shea is still flying the flag for his home nation as he helps Tourism Ireland with its push for the country to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Ahead of his team’s clash with the boys in green in Rome, O’Shea teamed up with the Irish Ambassador to Italy, Bobby McDonagh, and Tourism Ireland’s Italy Manager, Niamh Kinella, for a photo shoot in Piazza Barberini in the Eternal City. O’Shea – capped 35 times for Ireland – is a former coach of London Irish and Harlequins but still aiming to put one over his country in the Six Nations encounter.
Tourism Ireland is supporting the IRFU’s bid to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and is also encouraging rugby fans around the world to come and visit the island of Ireland this summer – starting with Italian fans – to attend the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
