Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially announced plans for Hyatt Regency Dilijan, marking the debut of the Hyatt Regency brand in Armenia after signing a franchise agreement with the Armenian investment and development group Green Rock LLC. The company has celebrated the milestone with an official groundbreaking ceremony in the mountain resort town of Dilijan, attended by government representatives. The project expands Hyatt’s presence in the region and adds a new luxury hospitality option for travellers visiting Armenia.
The upcoming premium, full-service hotel will offer 205 guestrooms and suites, a large conference centre with capacity for more than 550 guests, a rooftop helipad, and multiple high-end restaurants and bars. The Hyatt Regency will serve as the anchor for a 43,000-square-metre mixed-use development managed by Green Rock, which will feature a 3,000-square-metre wellness hub with a spa, fitness centre, and outdoor pool, two commercial movie theatres, retail shopping spaces, and future community and cultural sites including an art park and a music hall.
Located about 90 minutes by car from the capital city of Yerevan, Dilijan is famous for its national parks and alpine landscape. Local officials and developers hope this project turns the region into a year-round attraction. The development represents one of Armenia’s largest recent hospitality investments and is expected to create more than 400 local jobs. An exact completion or opening date has not yet been announced.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation shared in a written statement: “The signing of the franchise agreement with Green Rock LLC represents a significant milestone in Hyatt’s expansion strategy in the Caucasus region.”
