  • Workers cite last-minute schedule changes as the reason for the strike
  • Passengers receive free rebooking or full refund options

EasyJet has officially cancelled about 100 flights operating out of major airports in France due to a sudden two-day cabin crew strike. The walkout takes place across a busy national holiday weekend, with flights heavily impacted in Paris (Charles de Gaulle and Orly), Nice, Lyon, and Bordeaux. Around 68 pc of EasyJet’s 900 French-based cabin crew members joined the strike.

Cabin crew unions, including SNPNC-FO, called the strike over what they call permanent musical chairs with work schedules. Workers claim management frequently changes their hours and flight destinations at the last minute, making managing personal lives, childcare, and basic rest difficult. Most cancellations were made early to give travellers a chance to rebook. The industrial action disrupted operations affecting routes connected to Spanish and other European destinations.

EasyJet management labelled the strike opportunistic due to its timing during peak summer travel. The airline notes it has presented schedule adjustment proposals and formal negotiations are planned. Affected passengers are entitled to free rebooking on another available EasyJet flight without a change fee or a full refund. Passengers check their exact route on the official EasyJet Flight Tracker before heading to the airport.
