Emirates has resumed daily passenger flights between Dubai and Kuwait using its new Airbus A350 fleet, restoring the key Gulf route following a temporary suspension caused by regional security concerns. The service restarted on 22 August 2026 with a single daily frequency in each direction, representing a reduction from the four daily flights operated before the disruption. The limited schedule operates at approximately one-quarter of the airline’s original capacity on this route.
Flight EK857 departs Dubai International Airport at 2:55pm and arrives at Kuwait International Airport at 3:45pm local time, with the return service EK858 leaving Kuwait at 5:40pm and landing back in Dubai at 8:25pm. The short-haul Gulf route operates within a set afternoon window. Emirates similarly resumed restricted services to Bahrain on 15 August, also utilising the Airbus A350 for its single daily connection. Etihad Airways maintains a restricted single-flight daily schedule from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait, while regional carriers Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways continued multiple flights throughout the disruption period.
The partial capacity rollout matches a gradual trend of UAE airlines rebuilding their regional networks after earlier disruptions. Flight timetables remain under constant operational review due to changing security conditions. The airline advises passengers to verify booking statuses directly with the carrier before travelling to the terminal. The A350 deployment on this short-haul route marks the first use of this aircraft type on Emirates’ Gulf network.
