Five travel journalists from Germany and Austria, with a combined audience of around 5.8 million, have been exploring Ireland as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and tour operator Raiffeisen Touristik Group. The journalists represented various print and online publications and followed a bespoke itinerary showcasing some of the great holiday experiences on offer along the Wild Atlantic Way and in Ireland’s Ancient East. Their busy programme featured a sheepdog demonstration with Connemara Wild Escapes and a visit to Kylemore Abbey.
Other highlights included a tour and tasting at DK Connemara Oysters, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, Foyne’s Flying Boat Museum, the Dingle Peninsula, the Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny. The itinerary was designed to showcase the diversity of Ireland’s tourism offering across multiple regions. The journalists created content that will reach audiences in Germany and Austria, two of Ireland’s most important European source markets for tourism.
