BOC Aviation has agreed to purchase twelve Airbus A320-200N aircraft for long-term lease to Avianca. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and will all be powered by CFM International Leap 1A engines. The South American carrier already operates forty-nine A320-200Ns in its fleet, and BOC Aviation currently leases ten of them to the airline.
Avianca operates from its hub at Bogotá and continues to expand its narrowbody fleet. The order forms part of the carrier’s long-term fleet planning strategy. BOC Aviation has positioned the transaction as a long-term lease arrangement.
