WTTC announces keynote speaker for Malta Global Summit

The World Travel & Tourism Council has announced two further high-profile speakers for its 26th Global Summit in Valletta, Malta. Former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar and His Excellency Ambassador Nick Adams, the United States’ first Tourism Minister, have joined the programme. The Summit is taking place between 7 and 9 October 2026 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

More than 1,000 delegates from over 100 countries will attend, including 200 of the world’s leading Travel & Tourism CEOs, senior executives and government leaders. The theme FUTU[RE]SET will guide discussions on leadership, global competitiveness, investment, technology, connectivity and public-private collaboration. José María Aznar served as Prime Minister of Spain from 1996 to 2004 and led Spain through a period of economic transformation. Ambassador Nick Adams has made stronger public-private collaboration a central focus of his international engagement.

Gloria Guevara, President and CEO of WTTC, shared that the organisation is delighted to welcome two leaders of distinction to the Global Summit. Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, shared that Malta is proud to welcome the Summit and to host influential voices shaping the future of Travel & Tourism. The gathering will reinforce Malta’s position at the centre of global Travel & Tourism.
