Turkish Airlines has revealed the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Air China at the opening ceremony of the 4th China Air Transport Association Aviation Conference and Exhibition held in Beijing. The two flag carriers officially signed an agreement to expand their codeshare cooperation, deepening the partnership between Türkiye and China. Building on the freesale codeshare arrangement introduced in June 2024 that initially covered flights between Istanbul and Beijing, the expanded agreement now brings all direct trunk routes between Türkiye and China under the two airlines’ codeshare partnership.
Under the new agreement, Turkish Airlines’ guests will be able to travel beyond Beijing to a wider selection of destinations within Mainland China including Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Qingdao. Air China’s guests will benefit from additional onward connections through Istanbul to Ankara as well as to destinations across Africa including Accra, Lagos, Marrakesh, Dar es Salaam, Algiers and Tunis with Latin America including Cancun and Mexico City all served by Turkish Airlines.
With flights bookable under a single ticket across both networks, the expanded partnership offers guests of both airlines greater choice and more seamless connections when planning their journeys between China, Türkiye and beyond. Looking ahead, Turkish Airlines and Air China plan to extend their codeshare cooperation further to newly launched direct routes between Türkiye and China.
