Nearly onem customers stayed in accredited hotels over the past year, with satisfaction scores higher than the overall average. The operator has reported a 21pc rise in bookings for these properties and has shifted focus towards increasing the proportion of guests choosing sustainable options. Training aligned with Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards continues for hotel partners.

Nearly onem customers stayed in an independently verified sustainable hotel over the past year, representing a 21pc year-on-year increase. Customer satisfaction scores for certified sustainable properties averaged 4.5 percentage points higher than standard options. The company changed its focus from raw supply expansion to tracking the actual percentage of outbound customers choosing certified accommodations. Over 100 hotel partners received Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) aligned sustainability training. Every hotel included in the scheme was audited and verified against international sustainability standards recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
The tour operator shifted its core environmental metrics away from simply growing supply to actively measuring the percentage of outbound customers choosing certified properties. To support this growth, the company delivered GSTC-aligned sustainability training to more than 100 hotel partners over the last 12 months. To make it easier for travellers to choose these options, the operator introduced enhanced web filters and a dedicated Certified Sustainable Deals Page.
