French-based pilots for easyJet have rescheduled a planned walkout with potential travel disruptions to Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25, 2026.
The National Union of Airline Pilots (SNPL) originally called for a 43-hour strike on September 13–14. However, they suspended the initial notice to resume negotiations with easyJet management regarding roster stability and working conditions. Because the union chose to pause rather than completely withdraw the filing, the new dates late next week remain a live risk.
Pilots are protesting chronic roster instability. The union claims that last-minute duty schedule modifications make it incredibly difficult for France-based cockpit crews to maintain a manageable work-life balance.
If a resolution is not achieved, the strike action will affect flights operating out of easyJet’s six main French bases: Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Lyon, Nice, Nantes, and Bordeaux. Because France is a primary market and key airspace hub for the airline, a pilot walkout at these bases will likely trigger ripple-effect cancellations and delays across domestic and short-haul international flights network-wide. Pilots are legally required to give 48 hours’ individual notice before striking. This means easyJet will have a short window to adjust its schedules, re-crew flights, or communicate cancellations.
