Crescent Real Estate has completed the sale of The Hotel at Avalon, a 330-room luxury hotel located in Alpharetta, Georgia. The deal, officially revealed on 25 September 2026, marks the conclusion of a highly profitable contrarian investment that began when Crescent acquired the property during the height of pandemic-era market uncertainty in September 2020. The transaction marks another step in the company’s portfolio activity within the mixed-use Avalon development.
The Hotel at Avalon, Autograph Collection is a 4-star boutique luxury hotel. It serves as the primary hospitality anchor for the 86-acre Avalon mixed-use development in metro Atlanta. Crescent purchased the hotel in late 2020 via its GP Invitation Fund II. At the time, very few real estate investors were willing to target hospitality assets due to global travel disruptions. Throughout Crescent’s ownership period, the property was under the operational stewardship of HEI Hotels and Resorts. Global real estate investment banking firm Eastdil Secured acted as the exclusive financial advisor for the disposition.
While Crescent’s official announcement maintained confidential terms regarding the exact closing figures, industry data trackers from CoStar News show the premium hotel property commanded a valuation of $220m (€192.8m). It was purchased by a joint venture consisting of Endeavor Real Estate Group and Cox.
