Aer Lingus has installed ultra-fast free Wi-Fi powered by Starlink across its entire narrowbody transatlantic fleet. Customers flying to more than 10 North American destinations can stream movies and TV shows and stay connected at 35,000 feet. The airline’s engineering teams completed the installation on eight Airbus A321LR and six Airbus A321XLR aircraft in just over two months.
Customers travelling to Newark, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Nashville, Indianapolis, Hartford Connecticut and Raleigh-Durham can now enjoy seamless connectivity throughout their journeys. Aer Lingus flights connecting Shannon with Boston and New York JFK routes are operated by Starlink-equipped aircraft. The work was carried out in-house by Aer Lingus Maintenance & Engineering teams, who completed the modifications in as little as 12 hours per aircraft. Customer feedback to Aer Lingus’ enhanced connectivity has been positive, with customers connecting on multiple devices and enjoying Wi-Fi speeds equivalent to what they get at home.
With the Starlink installation programme complete across the airline’s narrowbody transatlantic fleet, Aer Lingus engineering teams will continue the rollout across the remaining widebody A330 aircraft. Starlink is expected to be available on all transatlantic aircraft before the end of 2026. Aer Lingus is also reminding customers that there is limited time left to take advantage of its transatlantic sale, with flights available from €199 each way as part of a return journey. The sale runs until 29 September 2026.
