British Airways has extended its daily winter service from London Gatwick to Antigua until the end of April 2027 adding more than 3,000 seats. The move followed an 11pc rise in visitors from England to the island between January and August.

The airline shifted its transition date to spring adding over 3,000 extra seats to the route. After April the flight frequency will revert to five flights per week from May until the end of October. The extended daily frequency accommodates travellers heading to Antigua Sailing Week from 21 to 25 April 2027.

Antigua and Barbuda recorded 53,439 stay-over visitors from England between January and August 2026 representing an 11.2pc year-on-year increase. Colin C. James shared that the capacity increase strengthens the island’s role as a Caribbean getaway and regional connectivity hub. The Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority shared that the additional seats support tourism growth.
