Skift is hosting its Global Forum under the theme Travel in a Fractured World, bringing together government ministers, EU officials, tourism boards, airlines and travel tech leaders to tackle geopolitical friction, European travel intent, AI in destination discovery, new aircraft opening secondary routes and the next generation of travellers. The event features speakers including Peter Burke, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, Member of the European Parliament, and Maja Bakran Marcich, Deputy Director-General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission.
The agenda includes sessions on building resilience and a competitive edge, unpacking the travel boom, empowering trust and seamless travel journeys, travel’s growing role in Europe’s economic future, and Skift Research on winning hearts in an age of infinite choices. Other sessions cover growth in a world reordered with Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, inspiration-led travel with Edison Chen of Trip.com Group, and infrastructure for tomorrow with Björn Bender of Rail Europe and Reid Moody of Aer Lingus.
The afternoon programme includes sessions on getting a US or Canadian traveller to choose you, building smarter destinations with Adam Oubuih of Atout France, beyond the gateway with Wendy Olson Killion of Rome2Rio, from ticket to tourism with Ana Tripković Marković of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, and driving local impact with Yvonne Nassar of the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions. The closing verdicts session features Eduardo Santander, Chief Executive of the European Travel Commission.
