French camping operators have extended their operating seasons into autumn with comfort upgrades. Groups such as Sandaya plan to keep 18 sites open until the autumn holidays. This is up from fewer than 10 last year.

Operators have invested in heated indoor pools, wellness spas, and cosy accommodations. Sites now feature covered and heated water complexes, balneotherapy centres, hammams, and saunas. Traditional camping is shifting toward glamping and upscale mobile homes with heating, private whirlpools, and wood-burning or pellet-style setups. Marketing campaigns target Indian Summer getaways with lower occupancy rates and discounted weekly packages.

Longer opening requires adapted accommodation and maintained services to cover costs. Operators aim to meet demand for milder-season breaks. The extensions support shoulder-season activity in France. The trend covers the current period from specified travel and hospitality sources.
