The five-star Savoy Hotel in Limerick has submitted planning proposals to expand into adjacent properties on Bedford Row and Henry Street. The plans include 28 new bedrooms, a café, restaurant, bar, and meeting spaces. The development aims to revitalise empty retail units and boost footfall.
Kirkland Investments Limited submitted the application to Limerick City and County Council. The project spans numbers 4 to 7 Bedford Row and numbers 8 to 9 Henry Street. It will absorb vacant units including the former Dealz store, Techstar, and the old Laura Ashley clothing store. First floors will be interconnected internally to deliver 28 luxury hotel bedrooms.
Ground and mezzanine levels will introduce a licensed café and restaurant along Henry Street. The plan includes a bar area, modern meeting rooms, and dedicated multimedia spaces. External alterations include an extended ground-floor winter garden, updated signage, five new bicycle parking stands, and a new hotel canopy on Henry Street. Public submissions remain open until 28 October 2026 with a final planning decision expected on 18 November 2026.
