The surge in domestic and international travel is driven by the back-to-back public holidays of Día de la Comunidad Valenciana on Friday, 9 October, and Spain’s National Day, Día de la Fiesta Nacional, on Monday, 12 October. Regional occupancy reached 85.4pc in Valencia city, with neighbouring Castellón reserving roughly 79.7pc of its capacity. The influx spilled across the border, with Spanish travellers packing out hotels in neighbouring Andorra for the extended break.
