The Big Scream Halloween Festival has returned to Dublin’s North East Inner City with The Undead 13 Nights of Fright programme running from 19 to 31 October 2026. The festival features zombies, Dracula and creepy carnival fun across the neighbourhood. Details were revealed at a Spooktacular event in Central Model School with a Cheer Leaders versus Zombies school children dance off.
The festival is organised by Dublin City Community Co-op with support from the North East Inner City Initiative and Dublin City Council. Highlights include Horrible History Walks, Monto’s haunted past, a Haunted House of Horrors, Halloween crafts, Fright Night Bingo and traditional music with FARÓ. A candlelit reading of Bram Stoker’s Dracula’s Guest takes place on 28 October outside Bram Stoker House Plaza followed by a walking tour.
The festivities reach their finale on 31 October when the Big Scream Carnival brings the north inner city neighbourhoods to life with a parade and carnival on Common Street. Halloween celebrations take place on Sean McDermott Street and Zombie Land at the Royal Canal Greenway. Spooky movies at Diamond Park run from 2.30pm to 8.30pm. Most events are free with some requiring advance registration.
