The British Library has opened Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery, the largest exhibition dedicated to the crime writer in nearly 25 years. The exhibition opened on 30 October 2026 and runs until 20 June 2027. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of Christie’s death in 1976 and the centenary of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd in 1926.

The exhibition tracks Christie’s life, travels and creative process across five thematic environments: The Country House, The Dispensary, The Train, The Dig and The Theatre. Visitors can view never-before-seen personal items, notebooks and letters from the Christie Archive Trust including her personal 1937 Remington typewriter, original plotting notebooks and her 1917 pharmaceutical exam notes.

Peak tickets are £25 (€28.75) while off-peak tickets range from £20 (€23) to £23 (€26.45). Concessions are available, members enter free and a £3 (€3.45) rate applies for qualifying welfare recipients. The British Library’s Living Knowledge Network is touring free panel displays and crime-fiction events to regional partner libraries including venues in Manchester, Surrey and Warwickshire.
