Sandyford based hotel group Dalata plans to open a new Clayton hotel in Edinburgh by mid-2026. The company aims to extend and convert an existing building on St Andrew’s Square, pending planning permission.
The forthcoming Clayton hotel in Edinburgh will feature 153 rooms, a bar, a restaurant, a fitness centre, and two spacious meeting rooms. The first-floor meeting rooms will offer stunning views of St Andrew’s Square, with period features enhancing the ambiance.
Dalata is committed to sustainability and will design the hotel to operate with zero on-site carbon emissions, aligning with its efforts to reduce environmental impact.
This will be Dalata’s third hotel in Scotland and reflects its expansion beyond Scotland, including plans for a Maldron-branded hotel in London and the rebranding of the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American under the Clayton brand.
The group’s development team aims to collaborate with Edinburgh authorities to create a flagship Clayton hotel with zero onsite operational carbon by mid-2026.
