Michelin say their Michelin Key rating system will be revealed in the first half of 2024, bringing the influential restaurant rating system online for to the accommodation sector for the first time.

Ratings will be awarded based on anonymous stays conducted by  Michelin inspectors, currently in the field.

Gwendal Poullennec International Michelin Guide Director

The selection is based on five criteria, including the hotel’s contribution to the local experience, excellence in design and architecture, individuality and authenticity, quality and consistency in service, comfort, and maintenance, and consistency between the experience and price.

The aim of the new app is “to recognise establishments that provide exceptional hospitality experiences, to enable travellers to combine gourmet experiences with memorable hotel stays, guide guests towards characterful accommodations, and provide a platform for choosing, booking, and sharing experiences.”
