Late night tours and circus acts to light up Dublin’s new winter programme

Fáilte Ireland is counting down to the first events in their “Winter in Dublin” programme which runs from November 1st, 2023 to January 31st, 2024. Festivities begin with Dublin by Night Fest November 2nd- 3rd offers brass bands, buskers and circus performers to a live outdoor movie screening. 

The schedule includes bespoke nighttime events, family-friendly festive occasions like Christmas at the Castle and NYF Dublin, and live music throughout January.

Dublin’s cultural institutions, music and theatre venues, and food and drink locations contribute to the city’s arts and entertainment scene. 

New for this year:

  • The Jonathan Swift Festival will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral with debates, performances and immersive tours, this year marks 300 years after the death of Vanessa.
  • Little Museum of Ireland offers late night tours with a festive tipple on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout November. The National Gallery of after dark events include ‘Meet the Maker’, evening concerts and Spanish themed experiences.  
  • Venues around the city hosting their own light events include Wonderlights at Malahide Castle, a mesmerising light show in the beautiful grounds of Malahide Castle from November 10th.

The programme also draws on pre-existing series such as Dublin Book Festival November 8th -12th, Temple Bar tradfest January 24-28 and and “Wild Lights” at Dublin Zoo which opens November 16.
