AI: ‘start small & expand gradually,’ Cliste hospitality conference told

Future technology advisor, Paul Armstrong told the second Cliste hospitality conference that business should start small with Artificial Intelligence and expand gradually.

He said the potential financial benefits of applying AI sensibly coujld be hundreds of millions of euro: AI has the potential to make and save the Irish hospitality industry hundreds of millions when applied sensibly. The challenge to the companies is to focus on the right jobs for AI to be applied to both inside and outside their businesses. The opportunity to be bold and show the world what great Irish hospitality can look like with AI is one not to be squandered.”

A poll conducted using the Slido App found that 54pc of attendees already use AI in their businesses, while 21pc never use it and 25pc rarely use it.

A Hospitality Experts panel featuring John Brennan, Geraldine Rosney, Mary Fitzgerald, and Pat McCann discussed how AI can coexist with the traditional human aspect of hospitality.

CEO of Cliste Hospitality, Paul Fitzgerald, said the conference achieved its goal of providing attendees with clearer insights into the challenges and opportunities in the hospitality industry.

The conference took place at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre and attracted 400 industry professionals, including hoteliers, investors, banks, and other tourism industry stakeholders. The theme of the conference was “Embracing The Future,” focusing on AI, sustainability, and future technologies and their impact on the hospitality industry.
